90-Year Old Accounting Firm Is Entering Its Sixth Year As Member of GoodAccountants.com

Jason Loven, CPA, says accountants must market
to remain competitive in today’s financial climate

John A. Knutson & Company is entering its sixth year as a member of GoodAccountants.com and has just committed an additional $25,000 with GoodAccountants to continue providing marketing services on behalf of the firm. This amount represents only a portion of the financial commitment the firm has made with GoodAccountants.com over the past five and a half years.

Founded in 1925, John A. Knutson & Company is a thirty-five to forty person, full service, accounting firm, located in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Jason Loven, a member of the firm for twenty-one years and a partner for eight, says the decision they made back in April, 2011 to bring in GoodAccountants.com to expand the firm’s base of audit clients was one of the best they’ve ever made. According to Loven, accounting firms in today’s financial climate must market themselves to remain competitive. The best proof of this can be found in the exploding numbers of companies and non-profit organizations each year that search online for their auditors.  Johanna Laurent, President of GoodAccountants.com says the number of audit requests coming into her website has tripled over the last eighteen months.

Andrew F. Knutson, a fourth generation principal and partner, agrees marketing is the best way to grow the firm’s client base.  “Our company has been around for ninety years and we want to keep it around for another ninety years, so that requires significant marketing,” says Andrew.

GoodAccountants.com is an online accounting marketplace which matches business owners and individual tax payers with local accountants and auditors. The company has been in business for more than 15 years and has several thousand accounting firms of varying sizes in its nationwide network. Its continued rapid growth has made it the U.S. accounting industry’s largest advertising aggregator.
